Doug Lindsay is a retired U.S. Air Force officer, leadership scientist, and executive advisor who specializes in helping leaders perform when it matters most. As the founder of Next Mission Leadership, he works with senior leaders and organizations to strengthen decision-making, ownership, and execution in high-stakes environments. His approach blends decades of military leadership experience with behavioral science, translating complex leadership challenges into practical, actionable strategies that drive real-world performance. He is also the co-author of In Your Moment, which explores how leaders navigate critical decision points that shape outcomes and define success.
Doug’s career spans more than 30 years across the military, higher education, and private sector. He currently serves as Deputy Editor at Military.com, where he covers leadership, national security, and the human dimensions of military service. His background includes roles as a professor, researcher, and leadership program director at the U.S. Air Force Academy and Penn State. He has delivered over 1,500 hours of executive coaching and worked with Fortune 500 organizations to develop leaders capable of navigating uncertainty and complexity, helping them lead effectively in environments defined by pressure, ambiguity, and consequence.
